I woke up at the most inhumane time - 9am - to meet kelsey, alicia and adeline for breakfast. Really, I'll ONLY ever do this for you guys. But the conversation was highly interesting especially since Kelsey was telling us how open people were in US about sex (not that we didn't already know) and Alicia had some fantastic CJ gossip to spill. Then we moved on to the nostalgic topic about how we haven't really changed personality-wise since primary school. And then came the usual nonsense about who's shy and who's not.
Me: Can I be shy but thick-skinned?
Kelsey: That's like saying you like sex but you don't. (silence while we try to understand what she just said)
Alicia: Actually I think it's like saying you're a virgin but you like sex.
And we finally agreed on that.
Then I spent yesterday shopping with Mr Goh Songyao who had a very fruitful shopping trip buying a pair of berms and sandals from NUM, We had a fantastic dinner at some cafe in Bugis before walking over to Paradiz for pool and James joined in. I think Goh Songyao's the only guy who'd ever say 'let's go shopping!'. lols.
That concludes my last few days of the year. Moving on.
" 2009 is at the door. Remember - Life is short, break the fules, forgive quickly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably and never regret anything that made you smile" - message from Sam Teng.
Obligatory last day of the year post.
I feel like giving the reflections and resolutions a miss this year because it just seems like a routine that takes place every last day of the year and is forgotten after the very first week. So I think there's no real need to dwell too much on the past but looking forward to another brand new year would seem much more exciting!
Of course, with all that said 2008 was a highly refreshing year with many firsts taking place - like the first time stepping out into the real world, first time working, first time I realised I can't sort myself out, the first time in NUS, my first time CHASING A PLANE (on the way back from Japan. I know I haven't blogged about it because I've been very lazy to), first time not thinking about rushing back to school on the second jan, first time I had so many months off and the first time going on a trip with people I don't know. There's loads more but I guess that can be easily found when you re-read previous posts. I don't have to list them all out.
But what I love about 2008 is that it's a year that that ends in a full circle. I don't think I've ever started and ended the year in the same way before and this is going to be another first. On the last day of 2007, Ernest, Yukang, Qibin and I stayed over at Cher's house (marcus came but left after mass). And this year, it's going to be similar! We'll be staying over at Cher's house - just that it's without Bins and inclusive of Peter. How often do you start and end the year with the same people, at the same place??
My only resolution this year was actually to start this year and end it with the same people. I know people come and go in our lives but I believe there's a group that I'll always keep with me. I started this year with this group of people who stayed over, my family, and also with edith, fel, mel, zelina, kailing, charmaine tay, adeline, kelsey, ali, shar, pam, alycia, mx, naomi, ghis, songyao, buns, james, sam teng, qimin(: and pete. And I'm glad to say they're all still with me (some from primary school). And over this december I've caught up with even more friends and added new ones to my favourites list like Andrea, Jerome, Joy and Sheaux (there's a few more but I can't remember for now). So yay! This is probably the one and only resolution I've ever kept in my life!
2009's going to be an exciting year although I'll probably be spending the very first day planning my boring timetable. I'm looking forward to the GREECE TRIP at the end of the year (or wherever we're going). Cher and I have been looking up on Greece to plan for it and I've been checking out prices with my ex-colleagues from Tradewinds. I know Qimin's excited about it too!! And well, Bins is stuck in army so he can do the planning later. I hope pete will come if it fits his schedule! It's just a pity ernest and yukang will be stuck in army at that time. The trip would definitely be more fun with them.
I'm also looking forward to my April - August break! Long breaks always means more money and more slacking around(: And Jerome says that we should try to work together again, which means it'll be fun!! I'm looking forward to our lunch at Amoy next year!(: (: (:
With such exciting things to look forward to, there's no need to spend too much time moping over the past!
See you in 2009!
